One of our goals for the GSC Detachment is to foster a sense of community. To this end we are happy to announce the GSC Officer Training Corps Program!
The Officer Training Corps is an incentive program with the goal of encouraging community within the Galactic Strategic Command Detachment by encouraging people to troop in their officer costumes and to participate on the forums, in creating tutorials or resources, helping other members with builds, or going above and beyond on a troop.

There are three ways to earn a service point:
• Complete a Mission
• Ignite the Spark
• Act of Valor
Complete a Mission
Every official Rebel Legion troop completed while wearing an approved GSC costume and logged on your forum training log earns one service point. Troops dating back to October 6, 2019 may be used.
Ignite the Spark
These service points are awarded for members whose actions “ignite the spark” in other members. Helping others with costumes, being helpful on the forums, sharing resources and tutorials, or helping write GSC costume standards are all ways these can be earned. Participating in themed detachment social media challenges may also earn points.
Act of Valor
These service points are awarded to members that go above and beyond. This can be anything from going above and beyond to help fellow troopers or make a participant feel comfortable on a troop, to drafting patterns for others, or creating tutorials and build guides. Acts of Valor should be relevant to the detachment or completed while in a GSC costume to receive service points.
Nominations
Service points for Igniting the Spark or an Act of Valor are earned through nomination. Any active member of the Rebel Legion may nominate a commander.
Nominations can happen in two ways:
1. For base level service (local costume help, help on the base forums, trooping excellence), send the nominating information to the local Duty Officer (or, in the absence of a local Command Post, notify the member’s BCO).
2. For service at the legion level (help on the main commander forums, standards development etc.), send nominating information to the DCO/DXO. They will post on the member’s thread awarding points.
Nominating Information should include:
1. Members Name
2. Member’s forum ID
3. Date and name of troop if applicable
4. Why they should be awarded service points
Interested in participating? It’s easy! Here’s how:
Step 1: Go to the Galactic Strategic Command Sub-Forum and start a thread for your training in the “Officer Training Corps” section here:

The thread should be titled as follows:
[Your Forum Name], Service Log For example: GeneralDodonna1, Service Log
*Note: You will need to make sure you have signed up as a member of the detachment to participate in this program. The sign up thread can be found here:

Step 2: Each time you complete a mission, comment on your thread with the log number and the name and date of the troop. If you have a picture include it! (Pictures are not required, your Duty Officer or BCO can verify your troop attendance using the event roster.)

Step 3: Once you have enough training points to advance rank, have your Duty Officer or BCO verify your service logs, and we’ll take it from there!
